[MD] Just coincidence?

Peter and all,

Could one say the contrarians are spandrels at some point in time? How else could something (somebody, or multiples of people, etc...) be so rebellious for so long in a culture that may see them as their name implies? Dynamic quality, sure. So, variation in genes, as well, are coincidental, according to these neutral genes Gould mentions. Gould mentions them, but he only picked that up from geneticist that have found them.
Genes are linked in ways that when one triggers, others trigger as well. Why are they linked in such ways? These coincidentally linked changes by various genes could be degenerate to the organism. Because the more genes that trigger simultaneously, then one might tend to think that the organism will have more contacts with the world, more necessary adaptive measures to make, in order to survive. Sure one or two, we'll say, changes could slip by, but when far more numerous changes occur at once, then the ride for the organism, society, or earth may become so punctuated, that we may find the experience to be one of chaos.
On the other hand, a generalist could cope even more if more changes are made in the generalist own life patterns (lifestyle changes, individual biological changes, etc...) by however these triggers of change are made with the generalist.

How many spandrels do we have in the waiting? And depending on the amount of coincidences (in this case, spandrels no longer neutral) to occur are we as a culture more of a generalist culture or a culture of numerous changes that become degenerate in their styles and more removed amidst this existing natural world where all takes place? Not necessarily questions to be directly answered, but a posting in general to see what you think.

  Thanks,
  SA
