May I chime in?

Marsha, you wrote,

Defending religion by the fact that there are a few pro-intellect
theologians doesn't really account for much. I read the two books
you recommended 'Life, Life' and 'The Religion of Being', by Don
Cupitt. Actually, I thought they were both great, but I can't
imagine how Cupitt can call himself a Christian. Christianity is 99
percent dogma. And as long as the young are being indoctrinated
with this claptrap and told 'it is the truth', I'd say DMB is correct.
Aren't you being a bit of an intellectual elitist?

Take a closer look and you'll find in all Christian theology that, althought it
has its purpose and its value, the intellect, by itself, is not all that helpful in
exposing the truth. It's actually a hinderance. Most great truths come
from the heart...and from the mouths of children.
