  Great example.
  In the book, Solshenitzen gives an example of biological quality trumping the intellect: The absurdity of two inmates discussing this or that artistic movement and the merits of a certain film or play, etc, within the context of the suvival demands of the gulag. On the other hand, Shukov learns to survive by his intellectual ability to manipulate others.
   
  But will the free-minded be condemned to dissident status in an over populated and over governed world?

  I agree that when push comes to shove many "quality" types will quickly and surely embrace their biological (animal) heritage. Me too.
   
  You sound a bit nihilistic in your other post. The end of civilisation does not have to be the end of the world. According to moq, it would just be a fresh start. 
   
  But perhaps I'll check out Alaska just in case.

that it works.

On the other hand, if you are the provider for a family and have children
to take care of, biology may trump all when it's time to survive.
