I know that it kills a joke to break it down or otherwise explain it, but 
apparently that's what I must do. (Good god, I love Sarha Silverman!) See, 
first I make the point that one's emotional dispositions are not relevant to

the intellectual validity of an argument. Then I say such personal attacks 
should be dismissed on the basis of a personal attack. See what I did there?

See how I changed directions there? I performed the act even as I condemned 
it. Am I clever and hilarous, or what? Anyway, as if you need to be 
instructed as to the workings of humor, my response to DM was not a personal

attack. It was a joke about his use of that tactic. The point being, of 
course, was to put those illegitimate arguments on full display. I'd hoped 
to make my point with humor.

And what's DM's reaction? He invites me to an S&M Zappa party. What the hell

does that mean? I do not understand how your mind works, Dave. And, 
apparently, you get real pissed off when I ask.

Maybe you'll do me a favor. First, find a quiet spot and have a cup of 
herbal tea. Or maybe some whiskey, whatever works for you. When you're 
feeling good, take a shot at answering my cluster of questions (about your 
remarks) with some some clarity and sincerity.

Ok that's all I can stands and I can't stands no more. 

DM: "Tied to the Whipping Post" is an Allman Brothers song. Any comparison
of Frank Zappa to that late great Son of the South Duane Allman is totally
out of line. 

If you want to bring in some Zappa that is your right but have some decency
for God sake. "Cosmic Debris" might work in this instance but "Don't Eat the
Yellow Snow" is highly appropriate in the context of any dmb post.

As for the obscure reference to HHGG and the tortuous reading of Vogon
poetry... Spell it out for us. Doug Adams is always welcome here.

And dmb as for you, is this demand for clarity and sincerity and attempt at
poetry or an illustration of irony. Because if you are going to conduct
another humor analysis session I demand to be throw out of the air lock
right now...

Note: to dmb I told you once before I thought you were occasionally
hysterical. For the record that first line I stole from Yosemite Sam and any
attempt to expunge it from the record will result in an influx of spam that
will make the recent Baginni storm look like something Zappa's huskies
wouldn't even piddle upon.
