Is a knife composed of autonomous moral agents acting in concert for a
collective social purpose? People make all manner of judgments. In the case
of a knife they could judge the temper of the steal or the sharpness of the
blade. In the case of a social system they can judge its function and
purpose, its ends and means in whatever way they deem appropriate.

Case,
Is a knife moral? Of course this is a ridiculous question, as is asking if
Capitalism or any other system is moral. People have morals. Why people
insist on giving human characteristics to non-humans is baffling.

David,
I think Ham is stating the obvious. People are moral, systems cannot be
anything but a system.
Micah
Social systems are designed by people. They are means to ends. Both of which
can be judged in moral terms.
