freedom and essential to life?

Think about what a slave can own and his right to life.

The Indians owned nothing, nor did they want to, and in many ways they enjoyed
MORE freedom than us, not less. Ownership is a snare, we come to think of
"freedom" as meaning nothing more than "accumulation". Which is just what the
mercantilists want, of course.
