Hello Mark --
What happens to the farmer who doesn't want to give away the crops
she's worked hard to grow and harvest?
Mark 20-11-06: Hello Platt,
Well, i'm assuming our utopia of sorts is populated with people who live
their lives under self imposed rules which are different from the ones people
live by at the moment. What shall we call our utopia? Let's call it: Welcome.
In welcome, everyone is cared for and supported. There is an understanding
that while no one owns anything, harmonic relationships are valued almost as
ownership. So, the musician owns his/her instrument because the relationship
between them harms the Human if the relationship is broken, and quality is
raise when they remain together.
The farmer has a similar relationship with the land; the produce is like the
music the musician plays - quality is raised when it is freely available.
Platt:
If the land doesn't belong to anyone, what's to stop someone from
coming in building houses on the land used by a farmer?
Mark 20-11-06:
Ideology stops it; a competing ideology suggests it.
Platt:
Is the hardworking farmer suppose to feed a community of artists?
Mark 20-11-06:
The farmer enjoys farming, that's why they do it. The reward for farmers is
in their love of their work, and the satisfaction of supporting basic needs.
These people of Welcome are accorded high social status.
Platt:
What happens if she refuses?
Mark 20-11-06:
Social values imitated from childhood make the suggestion difficult to
regard as usual.
Platt:
Who or what protects and preserves the rights of free speech, free
travel, freedom of religion, trial by jury, gun ownership, etc?
Mark 20-11-06:
Ideology.
> Mark 19-11-06b:
> Information from the Human encyclopaedia of static patterns.
> Everyone decides what destabilises 1 and 2. Those who care more about
> the environment would be listened to and respected for their care in
> that regard. Those who care about social harmony would be listened to
> and respected for their care in that regard.
How does "everyone decide?"
Mark 20-11-06:
Empirical observation of static quality i imagine.
Inherent in the notion is an understanding that freedoms are limited by
their evolutionary status according to that described in the moq.
Platt:
What happens to someone who starts and maintains a Christian
radio station?
Mark 20-11-06:
The people of Welcome would be educated to understand Christianity is
largely a matter of socialy imitated patterns of behavior.
The core teaching of Christianity is actually practiced in Welcome.
>
> Mark 19-11-06b:
> Free to treat children as economic units you mean.
Not a value to most people.
Platt
Mark 20-11-06:
Capitalist economies target the economic potential of children vigorously.
Think Disney, think McDonalds, etc.
Here, you're kids are welcome only if they can afford it.
Love,
Mark
