When my oldest daughter was born, the New Parents group set up a baby-sitting co-operative. If a parent wanted a night off child care, someone else in the co-operative would watch their child. The parent taking off would be debitted for each hour & the person performing the child care would be creditted for each hour, recorded in a ledger. Instead of hours, units or points could have been used. Or dollars. Indeed instead of a ledger, a big box with compartments for each parent could have been used. A token or even actual money could be removed & placed in the respective compartments.
Does it make any moral difference if dollars rather than something else are entered in the ledger or if dollars rather than something else are put in the box compartments?
Craig
