You gave me a mu answer no doubt for a reason
that is good. I do see how social order fit in, which
monasteries and communes are about. Eventually, as in
the Middle Ages maybe, the monasteries in Europe did
not stay upon their own grounds, but saw the need to
venture out into the rest of society came about. This
is the call of the Dali Lama now, to share the wisdom
that was isolated for centuries to the rest of the
world - the time is now for this wisdom to spread.
There are Amerindian guides of wisdom that say the
same thing now-a-days. With large populations, such
as cities, and the current mercantile, consumer
expansion mentality (remnants of colonialism, which
was seeded by the missionary mentality that others
must be saved, which these two in North America became
Manifest Destiny, thus, a 'all must have these
playstation 3's and be saved' mentality), you might be
implying a 'self-correction'. Thus, if we do this,
then that will occur, type of statement you give
above. Thus, a wholly other 'manifest destiny' is
what I gather. One based on quality - of course.
Quality of life, a life is quality and let's mimic
that. A value on the intellect and heart - life all
the Way through. Yet, what of large populations.
This might have to be a wait and we'll see kind of
thing, but I'm not seein' a quality of life equaling
we must save all the children that all the billions of
the people in the world will have, which these parents
will in large numbers not just have one or two, but
three maybe more to replace their parents. This is a
view that is full of death for any self-correction to
take place, or else we start colonizing other planets,
which will not happen any time soon. If the tiger
goes extinct, then what of this world... so sad, what
of this world will there be but stories no longer
playing out in the field of this earth, but stories
fully only in the mind, a world of pretend gone mad
where anything other than human, human food, and human
material needs will be put pretend and no longer.
tiger,
SA
P.S. inspiration clears the path, Mark, thanks. And
to follow suit with your starting points that I took
as implications that will create another 'manifest
destiny of quality', I begin with something simply -
and I say - tiger... tiger... tiger.
