Gee - thanks for your concern about how I gotta live, mom. The problem is 
not about me and a person doesn't need to be an American to know what I'm 
talking about. Religion is constantly in the headlines throughout the 
Western world. War, terrorism and genocide is going on right now and 
religious hostilities play a large role in these horrors. I'm not 
complaining about my friends and neigbors, you know? They pretty much feel 
the way I do. Its just a matter of degree, but not disagreement. I'm talking 
about history and current events and metaphysics, not my personal struggles. 
I think this mess needs to be framed in terms of the evolutionary conflict 
between social and intellectual values, not in terms of how we feel about 
personally.

And think about how odd it is to defend the belief in God. Why not the gods? 
Why not the gods and goddess and their children and their half-mortal 
rivals. How about the Titans and Fire-breathing dragons? Where do you draw 
the line on a thing like that? Why is it not ridiculous to keep hanging on 
to that one last God? Gods come and go, Dave. We don't worship the Sun 
anymore and in the future the Pope may seem as ridiculous as a witch doctor 
in a Three Stooges movie. Come to think of it, those Pope clothes are kinda 
fruity even to contemporary eyes. My point? It looks to me like theistic 
religion is fading fast already. I think we are now witnessing its last 
desperate acts. On some level, I think most people know that its a vestige 
of the past, obsolete already and they're very upset about that fact. You 
know, denial and rage are part of the grieving process and, historically 
speaking, God died just the other day.

And on a philosophical level, there are many reasons why theism doesn't work 
in the MOQ, but now even I am bored by that schpeil.
