[MD] New Model Army, Mystic(DQ) Experience, and Religion (SQ) as Power

DM,

You said "This gets the MOQ mixed up with your prejudices. I don't dig
shitting
that much but can't do without it."

Only a man full of shit could make such a statement. We all enjoy shitting,
we may not be giddy about it, but the joy of relief is unmistakable.

Micah

Hi DuMBy

> David M, advocate of the flat-Earth society,

DM: That's you, mine's got bumps and curves and is alot more interesting.

DM: The major role?

 I'm not

DM: If your ideas don't connect to your life, what's the point?

> I think this mess needs to be framed in terms of the evolutionary conflict

DM: I agree. In these terms my point is that religion does emerge as
v.important
on the lower levels and still has a role on the intellectual level. My point
is
that these are levels, if you throw away the lower levels when you get to
the top the whole thing falls down, that's what you appear to want to do.
The MOQ way to look at this is that you keep the lower levels going from
your new height, you just look at them differently. You are having some sort
of fantasy that you can do without the lower levels and still live on the
higher
level. This gets the MOQ mixed up with your prejudices. I don't dig shitting
that much but can't do without it.

DM: I agree, religion, worship, etc evolves. Chances are there are more gods
to come, that's my point, chances are the values and qualities of religion
will
keep re-emerging in new forms, they are there is science rather obviously to
anyone with an eye for metaphors and re-hashed concepts, you know, educated.

and in the future the Pope may seem as ridiculous as a witch doctor

DM: I'd say religion is going backwards quite a lot at the moment, and
failing
to swallow certain bitter pills that need to be swallowed to move forward.
You just come across like there never was a counter enlightnment.

I think we are now witnessing its last
> desperate acts.

DM: Yes, in its current inadequate form.

On some level, I think most people know that its a vestige

DM: Yes, one kind off god, as you recognise above, that makes room for
new ones. Go and read Don Cupitt's Religion of Being to see the future.

DM: Even my dog can't hold an old bone like you can!

DM: Not me, you're the one obsessed with Christians, I haven't seen one for
years.
