[Marsha asked]
How can I suggest to him that everything-is-connected-to-everything and is
constantly changing. (I think he is forgetting this.) As he more and more
divides the world into this and that, how do I suggest the world beyond himself
and what he can name?

[Arlo]
One area of consideration in teaching kids non-SOMist thought is to find
non-SOMist cultures and see how they teach their kids naturally. Indian
culture, which Pirsig spends quite a good deal on in LILA, and remarks on
several times in ZMM, would be a place I'd think would be a natural start.
Buddhistic culture would be another. That "language divides" is an unavoidable
truism, but the division is far less profound, as Pirsig suggests, in these
cultures. Of course, "art", as Platt also suggests should be emphasized.
