This is an interesting point indeed. I would phrase the current
question as "Are the ideas presented in Loose Change of high Quality?"
and I think the answer is no. They take comments out of context, and
outright lie in several points of the film to back up their points,
which apparently have no basis in Reality. I believe them to be Low
Quality intellectual patterns, and thus should be debased accordingly.
However the deeper questions you raise based on this strike me as much
better. Socially, it seems like it is completely moral for a
government to try and retain it's static latch, it is essentially it's
purpose. However conspiracy theories, to me, are moral in that they
are intellectual patterns of value trying to assail a social pattern
that they perceive as immoral. Thus the actions they take in
attempting to topple a social pattern are intrinsically moral.
However if the intellectual patterns used are of low quality they
should be supplanted and overthrown by higher quality ideas. Whether
those patterns support the government or not, is irrelevant. The only
important thing is that low Quality intellectual patterns be opposed
by higher quality patterns. Since the loose change ideas are of low
Quality to my perception, I oppose them. The fact that in so doing I
am essentially supporting the government is not something I worry
about. I still disapprove of the government on pretty much everything
else, just in this case, I think they're being illegitimately
attacked.
Bad ideas are always Bad Ideas, regardless of their context.
