You are confused, we now exist independent of the Dodo bird (extinct), and
we would still exist if we killed all monkeys (which I do not advocate), but
nothing can be shown to exist independent of humans and I hate to keep
harping on this - but this a fact. I know of only one reality - please
describe the "other" reality.

     That's exactly the point Micah.  Nothing does
exist independent of humans, and we humans do not
exist independent of monkeys.

     The 'nothing does exist independent of humans and
monkeys' applies that we are not set apart.  Trek
intellectually in that direction and you may find a
whole other reality exists, one that is not separated,
isolated, and non-empathetic, yes, I go even that far.
