Hi Dan,
I feel a sense of resolution and thank you for everything.
I agree the poem is introduced in an approrpiate position regarding the  
narrative and Lila's personal journey.
 
I'm still wondering how a person with no intellectual patterns to speak of  
can kill intellectual patterns she does not have. (This is using the MoQ  
definition of Intellectual patterns as those of abstract symbolic  manipulation.)
I think Lila, 'thinks' in socially imitated patterns, (what may be regarded  
as memes) and it is these she is killing.
