Ham,
I believe I saluted the "Fringe" when you first ran it up the flagpole, in a
reply to an earlier post. I find Pirsig and Rand compatible, hand in glove.
I'll share it with you as best I can.
Micah

Yes, but you're doing a superb job of countering their objections. And,
from what I can see, it's perfectly consistent with Pirsig's
"Experience=Reality" thesis. Keep it up!

Your friend Ayn Rand said:
"There is no such thing as a collective brain. There is no such thing as a
collective thought. ...we can divide a meal among many men. We cannot
digest it in a collective stomach. ...no man can use his brain to think for
another. All the functions of body and spirit are private. They cannot be
shared or transferred."
Incidentally, what do you think of my suggestion to organize a "Fringe"
faction as a check-and-balance on the hardliners? Ant McWatt and Arlo have
given their nod of approval, and I'm pretty sure Laramie would join us in
that effort. (You would enjoy chatting with him.) Besides, I'm interested
in hearing your philosophical views beyond "man is the measure...".
Essentially yours,
Ham
