[MD] conspiracy theories

[Case]

Conspiracy theories are proof that Nature abhors a vacuum. Where ever there
is a hole in our knowledge we love to fill it in. In fact we just can not
abide not knowing. Conspiracy theories, religions and essentialist
philosophy all seem to have roots in the same soil.

I find most conspiracy theories hopelessly optimistic, especially the ones
about rich, powerful, ancient societies that move armies and finances around
to screw the little guy and empower the powerful. To believe that there are
people clever enough and powerful enough to control the fate of mankind...
Ahhh, if only it were so.

In my experience there is far more incompetence in the world than even
malice or greed.
