Platt man, you do Not have a leg to stand on. You have yet to present a coherent
defense for any of the ridiculous arguments you have advanced, or Arlo's
points. As far as I can tell, you've got nothing but posturing and hot air,
hardly the most intellectual basis...
[Arlo]
I was talking about this with my daughter last night, wondering what she'd say,
and about "full nudity" she said, and I quote, "Eww, dad, aren't there, like,
hygiene reasons about that." I laughed, because of course she was right, and it
presents a briliant counter to Platt's absurd attempt to shift away from
topless women to full public nudity, because it completely desexualizes the
context.
If society passes laws restricting "bottomlessness" based on hygienic concerns,
the transmission of germs, diasease, etc. that can arise from the
"unintentional sharing (lets call it) of bodily products". On the other hand,
it is immoral for society to pass laws forcing the concealment of a body part
on women just because some men happen to get aroused if they see it. Since men
are readily allowed to go "topless", it is an immoral law that says women
can't. However, with "bottomlessness", if both men and women are forbidden
because of realistic health concerns to the public, this law would be moral.
