Hi Peter!

If my use of the "heart" cliche offends, pluck it out: pretend I said 
"spleen." I'm open to new metaphors. I'm just using cliche for it's 
clarity, but I agree that if the language conjured up an image for you 
that was that melodramatic (I think I may have drawn that exact picture 
when I was in 8th grade!), that particular cliche may have outlasted 
it's usefulness.

I do think that since DQ experience is really pre-intellectual, it's 
more "felt" than understood. That's what I was driving at with the 
"heart" (er, spleen) is more open to DQ experience; the intellect misses 
DQ when it's too busy.
