[Craig cites Arlo]
the military functions through demanding blind obedience to orders
[Arlo]
This was a historical observation, about the function of state and church
"armies" throughout history. You are correct in pointing out that since
WWII there has been a vocal backlash against such blind obedience. The
various crimes you cite, are all orders that any soldier, for any state or
religious social structure, should rightly disobey. This has been my point
all along.
Now, my question to you, do you think, that at any time in American
history, there has ever been issued an "immoral order"? What examples would
you provide?
Also, do you agree or disagree with my general statement that neither
"theism" nor "atheism" are to blame for historical atrocities, but rather
blind obedience to the social power structure of either "the church" or
"the state", and the willful adherence to the belief that one's chosen
social structure can do nothing immoral.
