[Arlo]
Are you suggesting Scottish kilts or nudity?

[Marsha]
Okay, now translate. I'm a strong, German broad. I can take it.

Nothing there to offend anyone. "Die Toten Hosen" (literally "The Dead Pants",
but a phrase to refer to something "quite boring") are a German punk/rock
(notice the slash and not a hyphen) band that has been playing since the early
80s. Their repetoire is a mix of doing for German culture what the Pogues did
for Irish, and politically scathing commentary a la The Clash. Vocal on their
support of "Pro Asyl", an organization dedicated to providing political asylum
to international refugees as well as their strong love of the Dusseldorf area
from whence they come, they are one of the longest lasting and best selling
"non-English" acts in Europe (although they did do an album entitled "Die Toten
Hosen Learn English", with a few of their songs sung in English).

"Bis zum bitteren Ende" is a slogan and song of theirs, meaning simpy "To the
bitter end". The "Altbierfass" is a beer tap dispensing "Alt", the
top-fermented lager popular in the Dusseldorf region. A very good beer, if you
can find it (sadly, it is quite uncommon in the USA).

german pages)
For info on Pro Asyl: http://www.proasyl.de (but that's only in german)
