[MD] Flying Spagetti Monsters

Jos,

Individuals move mankind forward, not teams. Using the existing knowledge to
reach a new breakthrough did not make Einstein a team, nor Beethoven, nor
Hawking, etc. Human don't exist as teams, we exist as individuals. We can
work in teams, but as individuals striving toward a common goal. Beethoven
didn't invent the scale, but some "ONE" did. The fact that you name
individuals, instead of teams - makes Platt's point.

Correction for you - individuals make a society, society does not make
individuals.

Micah

You seem to be championing the celebrity?

These individuals were products of societies, all were creative whilst
standing on the shoulders of others.
Beethoven did not invent the chomatic scale, Rembrant was taught to paint in
a school, and Einstein did not pluck his ideas out of thin air without
extensive reference to existing literature.
The renaissance period produced great art, The industrial revolution
produced great thinkers.

Any and all constrains can be disobeyed and all may be subject to change.
Be they inorganic, biological, social or intellectual.
Disobeying moral codes at all levels is imoral, we are free to make bad
descisions of course but does being free to drink bleach, sleep with your
sister, ignore a red light or belive that you are napoleon really have any
great value.
Just because you can, doesn't mean that you should
