Thanks, Arlo. You've made my point about relying on Washington politicians
for
accuracy. PC, however, is more about not using language that might offend
someone than the ancient practice of describing the same experience in
different ways, such as, "I am nuanced, he is a prevaricator, you are a
damned
liar." (Nothing personal intended.)

PC is about recasting language. I'd hardly call the "rightists"
manipulations
any less "evil" than those of the "leftists". However, if I had to choose
between them, renaming "torture" to "rough interrogation" seems more vile
than
asking people not call call black people "niggers" or Jews "kikes". But hey,
you pick and choose what's important to you.

Yes, I know you laud the cult of individuality against the oppressive
collective, and I worship at the shrine of dialogic intersubjectivity via
the
mythos. We've been there. I only stated my ecological metaphor for Jos as I
can't recall if he was involved in our last merry-go-round.
