I too think it is more about stereotypes,
indifference, and not so much hate. Yet, we are
reminded every campaign that 'racism' exists, and what
about Byrd from West Virginia (Democratic) and George
Allen from Virginia (Republican). Both of these men
are accused of being racists. As elections near,
racism is not explicit in the politicians as much as
in the general population. Somehow, from some dark
recess of this cultural-mind, racism lurks and has
its' head pulled out by some people as they say hey,
it's here, and this racism is, I would not doubt it,
may start from blaming, not taking responsibility for
ones own life, combine that with the stereotypes,
indifference, and all that one needs is that spark of
hate. Somebody somewhere holds onto the politics of
racism throws it out there, like bloody bait, to watch
how people attach to the idea as an answer to their
problems. Problems must have a solution, answer, a
REASON, right? As Platt and Jos, I believe mentioned,
we don't even know where to go to find out what is
right and wrong, good and bad. I haven't read all the
posts on this, and Platt stated maybe we should start
a new post on how our intellectual reasoning out of
what is right and wrong is flawed. We do know change
or DQ is of a better explanatory force than all our
static patterns, yet, this culture wants a REASON for
their troubles. Race lurks probably due to this need
for a REASON. As you state, politics is marketing,
and marketing is scientific REASONING. REASONING is
the definer, activator, and stimulant that this
culture thrives upon. Since REASONS never become as
solid as biology, REASONS must be turned out daily and
nightly. REASONS come and go so quickly, if one needs
them, depends on them, then ones attachment to them,
since they come and go so quickly, will be like a
drug, a sugar fix. Just as advertising notices this
with advertising everywhere feeding the fix of the
population. DQ changes more than the intellect, but
with DQ there's nothing to fix upon.
