True, no point is really necessary. This is like "cocktail hour on the internet". Seems like the their are only about 20 discussers with about 20 quiet lurkers. (The numbers, Just my private speculation).
   
  Some peoples lively intellectual discussion is just bullshit to others. So no harm done.
  No body is forced to read or attend.
   
  By the way some Princeton? philospher published a 68 page book titled, "...On Bullshit" in the last couple of years, which I recommend. A friend loaned me a copy. Perhaps, someone might want to track down the book and read it too.
