Native Americans (to risk broadly generalizing) supported their lives 
without "owning the profit of this effort" (property, etc.).

True.  We should conclude that profit-making & private property are morally permissible, not that they are morally required.   A kibbutz in Israel or an Amish community in PA can survive surrounded by a capitalist society.
