Try translating the phrase: "Meinst du man kann die Ziet mit Uhren messen und so
gleich ewigkeit verstehen": The lyrics of a song, I used to love by Mario
Heine, a German singer, though, it looks like an Italian name. copy and paste
it.

[Arlo]
You mean Zeit, not Ziet. You can also try (in addition to babelfish)
freetranslation.com. I ran this through both, just to see the differnece, and
how such things do not do justice to aesthetics. Anyway, good to know there is
another Hosen fan among us. Perhaps we should do a round of Bommerlunder.

Now, since we are drifting again, but in a vein of art and prose, there is a
great song by Einsturzende Neubauten (Collapsing New Buildings) called "Haus
der Luge" (House of Lies, and I am skipping umlauts tonight). In some ways it
seeks parallel in The Inferno, with escalating levels of denial and deceit,
culminating in "Gott has sich erschossen", or "God has shot himself". (Arlo
interprets the final verse, which mentions "dead angles strown on the floor,
their faces resembling "his" (the man with the gun in his mouth), as the
suicide of god after his divine children died pursuing earthy gains). I dont
know what kind of justice babelfish will do it, but here is the first verse
(okay, I did the translations):

Erstes Geschoss: (First floor)
Hier leben die Blinden (here live the blind)
die glauben was sie sehen (who believe what they see)
und die Tauben (and the deaf)
die glauben was sie hören (who believe what they hear)
festgebunden auf einem Küchenhocker (bound and gagged to a kitchen chair)
sitzt ein Irrer, der glaubt (sits a fool, who believes)
alles was er anfassen kann (in all that he can feel)
(seine Hände liegen im Schoss) (his hands lay in his lap)

Okay, way off the MOQ. Sorry for that.
