For any of you out there who are auditory learners or who have long commutes
and are bored with the drone of talk radio and repetitious music I would
like to recommend The Teaching Company. They offer extensive college level
lectures on a variety of subjects many of which should be of special
interest to MoQ participants. While these lectures can be ordered over the
internet at http://www.teach12.com/ they are fairly expensive at about $100
for a 40 lecture course. They can be "sampled" or "previewed" via P2P
networking at considerably reduced cost.

The ones I have listened to have been outstanding general surveys of fields
like:

World Philosophy, where the lectures on Buddhism include a section on
Nargajuna.

Philosophy of Mind by John Searles. What can I say straight from the horse's
mouth.

Religion and Philosophy of the West covers Western thought from the Greeks
to Whitehead. It provides an effective antidote for those who think
Christian thought is simplistic.

There are hundreds of lecture series available though these folk. You can
load them into your iPod even.

This sounds a bit like a commercial but since I have tended to preview
rather and purchase these things, I have no vested interest; just wanted to
share the love.
