[MD] Drug User or Genius?

Greetings,

Years ago I saw an interview with an artist.  I don't remember who 
either interviewer or interviewee were, but this man stated he ate 
alone and the same menu everyday.  He did this to free himself from 
much of the biological and social activities of a meal, and direct 
the additional freed psychic energy into his art.  A broccoli and 
tomato salad was his lunchtime meal, but that's all I remember.   I 
was impressed.
