[MD] Down the road of mediocrity

[Platt]
It's the best reason I can think of. Who wants to spend the rest of his life in
jail, our wind up sitting in Old Sparky?

[Arlo]
But I was asking _you_, is the reason you don't commit murder because the
government has you "at the point of a gun"?

[Platt]
So long as it's voluntary, I have no problem. It's forced compliance that
concerns me, like the current political correctness crap.

[Arlo]
No one had to force me to enter into a social contract. I can see its advantages
a million miles away.

[Platt]
Our priorities, and thus our values, are different -- as obvious from our
exchanges.

[Arlo]
I refuse to believe that leading a meaningful life, for you or anyone, derives
from wealth and riches. I think that many are convinced it does, for it is
certainly banged into our heads by the capistocracy.

[Platt]
As you ship off to Borneo I'll be waving goodbye at the dock and wishing you a
"meaningful life" as you define it. Somehow I don't think that's a trip you'll
be taking any time soon. But, I could be wrong. :-)

[Arlo]
There are reasons I would not move to Borneo, but none of them are because I
would be unable to lead a meaningful life there. Indeed, the same reasons that
keep me from moving to Wyoming are the same that keep me from moving to Borneo.
