Hi Platt,
I'm not 100% sure that the U.S. were the saviors of WWII. While the effort
would likely have been a failure without U.S involvement, the total loss for
the allied losses was 17 million. 11 of those were Russian. 4 million
between western allies. mind blowing at any rate....:*(
The U.S only joined the war, 2 years into the game after Russia, if I'm not
mistaken. It was also initiated only after they were attacked by the
Japanese.
Gratitude? This weekend, for example, is the anniversary of the battle of
Vimy Ridge, and France is hosting thousands of our(Canadian) soldiers and
citizens as an homage to their efforts. I would see that as gratitude.
As far as I know, Canadians are well received in Holland due to its
liberation by Canadian forces. to this day people offer their homes to
Canadians in remembrance of that. That sounds like gratitude.
