Hi Jos Good points. Science adopted mechanistic and inanimate assumptions to simplify the study of order in nature. It proved a useful approach and much has been learnt. But as you are suggesting these assumptions have no real basis and can be replaced to give a different interpretation of the same behaviours. David M
