Since when is intelligence measured by how many lines of a newspaper article
you read? Good journalism gives you an accurate story right at the top, then
adds details from most to least important. As you guys so clearly
illustrate, you missed that ... plus a lot of other basic knowledge . . .
somewhere along the line in your education, such as it was.

The reason this works is that a newspaper can usually assume that its
readers have a common background and context for what they are reading. You
on the other go read a newspaper from a foreign country and assume you have
the proper background to understand the context and skim it. Then complain
because the stupid foreigners don't write so you can understand. 

This is why they call us Ugly Americans.

I reiterate my comments from above.
