[Platt]
No, it's not a question of "being bothered." It's a question of truth and
accuracy in journalism.
[Arlo]
The report was accurate. You made presumptions and didn't bother to check them
out. This shows why critical thinking skills are so important.
[Platt]
I was let to believe by Jos Laycock that the Independent held a high reputation
in Britain for professional journalism.
[Arlo]
And it does. Because you are unfamiliar with the structure of the NHS, and
jumped to an unwarranted position, is on you.
[Platt]
Now I don't know where you get your ideas for "critical thinking skills," but it
seems that truth is not high on the list.
[Arlo]
Quite the opposite. A critical thinker would have looked past the headline
before drawing conclusions based on ideological assumptions.
[Platt]
I've grown accustomed to these personal attacks from the holier than thou crowd
who inhabit academia.
[Arlo]
Those of us who "inhabit academia" are appalled that expecting someone to
actually "think" is a seen as a "personal attack". But given what what inhabits
talk radio, I understand why.
