Hi all,
Platt, I just wanted to comment on the erroneus nature of your comment.
You said: the terrorists in Iraq armed with little more than handguns
>and explosives are doing a pretty good number on the US Military.
Just to let you know, the insurgents in that country are extremely heavily
armed. RPG's and Kalasnikovs are fairly easy to attain. A large part of
the casualties are cause by Improvised Explosive Devices. Their armament is
considerably more dangerously effective than handguns.
Also, you said; >Since similar school killings have occurred in recent years
in Scotland and
>Germany I think it's simplistic to blame those in the U.S. on a unique
>"culture of
>violence."
In the past 6 years, there have been over 200 fatal school shootings in the
U.S. in the past 6 years alone, with an average of 1 young person dying
every week.

I think you will find this in stark contrast with other developed nations.
In the end, I think it was the "loose straw" gene theory. If a crazy person
really wants to kill people, then they can go and do that. This is why they
are crazy.
gotta run
