The internet and the cellphone are examples of technical innovations facilitating
relationships and interpersonal communication. Offhand I can't think of any
"social structure" changes that might improve the situation other than the
spread of intellectual values such as democracy, free markets, trial by jury and
freedom of the speech and religion to countries currently bereft of such values.
