Some seemed to think so. Case actually had the good sense not to send a
couple that he wrote. He did speak directly. Our User was exposed to Strunk
and White just in time. He still struggles to avoid weasel wording and to
remember that adjectives are the enemy. 

Plain spoken or just plain rude? 

Not kidding, some of both.
