Thanks for the reference to the Scruton lecture. I also found it thought provoking
and expressive of my reluctance to endorse gay marriage, pointing out that law
has a protective function to insure the social order can reproduce itself. I
highly recommend that everyone listen to Scruton on the subject of why freedom
must at times be circumscribed. Thanks again.
