Greetings,

My state is switching from a mechanical voting system to an Optical 
Scanning system.  On Monday I went to a training session on the new 
system.  I am concerned.  People were discouraged from attending the 
second half of the session dealing with testing.  The new testing 
procedure was explained as being equivalent to the testing done on 
the mechanical system.  While the testing was the same physical 
procedure, it did not address the differences between a mechanical 
system of accumulating and a software (proprietary) method of 
accumulating.   Auditing software is a total different can of 
worms.  When I challenged that there was a difference not be 
addressed, my question was tactfully discarded by a state 
representative.  I was probably the only attendee who had IT 
experience and understood the dangers.

I have BIG questions about voting?
