Platt,
Some pure intellectual pursuits, such as philosophy, may be supported
by the Academy, but that does not equate to all pure intellectual
pursuits, such as philosophy, are supported by the Academy. So
Platt, do you have evidence that Pirsig thinks "that pure
intellectual pursuits such as philosophy are made possible by those
in society who "make money.""? Actually I don't think RMP was
supported to pursue philosophy by the Academy.

If you meant that RMP thinks the earth is round like a sphere, you
better supply some proof.
