I didn't claim that philosophy is an inevitable result of having money, if
that's
what you mean by "ipso facto."
[Arlo]
No, I mean I deny that you have to have money before you can have philosophy.
"Money", as I said, is a common social pattern, but whether or not it is part
of any given social system does not influence in any way whether intellectual
patterns will emerge there.
[Platt]
But, money being a part of the social pattern as you agree, is necessary for
intellect to achieve a level of its own which includes philosophy.
[Arlo]
Money is not a necessary part of social patterns. So while social patterns in
general are indeed required for the emergence of intellect, whether or not
"money" is included among them does not matter.
[Platt]
Yes, the truth sometimes arouses ire. Otherwise, why the constant character
assassination instead of presenting evidence for your positions?
[Arlo]
Talk about the pot calling the kettle black! Hoo boy! Short answer, I've given
up on real dialogue, since every conversation degenerates in three degrees to
"evil libs and their anti-freedom agenda who lie and distort versus noble,
freedom-loving conservatives who defend truth, honor and all things good". I've
been there a jillion times. I have every belief this will end there too. Its
just a matter of time.
