[Platt]
Freedom of religion is something many pagan worshippers seem to be against.
[Marsha]
I've known many "pagans", and they actually understand the meaning of
archetype and metaphor.
[Arlo]
There is certainly a stronger emphasis on the monomythical archetype
and world-historical allegories among modern "pagans" than is found
among the Christian population. Most "pagans" I know and read stress
the "esoteric" meaning of the myth, while most "Christians" stress
the "exoteric" words of the stories (as do most "Muslims" and "Jews"
(apart from perhaps the Kabbahlists)).
We'll see if Platt can offer any examples of "pagan worshippers"
would are against "freedom of religion".
But note, this is just all so much distraction from the meaning of my
post. Moronic statements like "As yes, forever the "enlightened"
academic, casting his pearls before swine" only show the sad rhetoric
of those who only offer insipid rhetorical maneuvering in lieu of
anything meaningful and substantive.
And so we'll move into a ridiculous chain where "nihilists, pagans
and academics" are evil, vile, threats to the Noble Righteousness of
the Religious Traditionalist. We'll see moronic statements implying
"Arlo wants to abolish Christmas" and "Freedom of religion is
something many pagan worshippers seem to be against." Of course, who
would've expected anything more?
