I'm currently reading Louis Menand's 1997 "Pragmatism - A Reader" - an
anthology of pragmatist writings including the usual suspects. He's
the same guy that wrote "The Metaphysical Club". Are you familiar with
either of those ? How do they compare to your latest recommendation ?
