[MD] mystical experiences

Mystical experiences are a natural effect of practices such as Yoga  
and Taoist Chi Gung/Tai Chi.
There is actually nothing mysterious about these experiences, if one  
accepts and understands the principles that give rise to them.

During Tai Chi and Yoga practice, it is common to experience  
expanding awareness, sense energy in and around oneself. The  
practitioner can become extremely sensitive to the energetics around  
oneself (sense emotions, feelings etc as palpable sensations).  The  
key is to break down the wall of incredulity that has been forced  
into our systems by "rationality" and need for objectivity by the SOM  
paradigm.

I had an experience that got me started down this path when I was 18  
(though I didn't realize it till only about 8 years back).

  I had a vision while in an awakened state. I saw a brilliant flash  
of electric blue light, the shape of an egg, spinning fast. It slowed  
down for a moment and I saw the image of Buddha and Krishna  
transforming into each other in that egg (at this point I must say I  
wasn't exactly gnostic -- too much science for me at that juncture).  
Then it spun very fast and exploded into countless sparks of light,  
as if I was traversing in outer-space. I was left feeling completely  
serene until my rational mind took over and starting analyzing the  
incident to death (of the experience)...

There is nothing "nutty" about such experiences, they appear to  
people when they are ready, as signs that signify some impending or  
imminent change. What one chooses to do with such revelations are  
entirely up to the individual. Can choose to use the experience as a  
landmark/milestone in a greater journey or seek psychiatric help.
