Hi Rebecca
Thank you so much for saying so!

It is, yes. At the same time though, I think we as human beings have an
innate desire to share experiences with others and so we search for words
that allow us to do so.
>It's the people sitting in front of their tv sets who forget that there are

Perhaps. Still, ignorance seems such a blessing at times.
>Maybe it's time the mountains were about more than solitude...
I love the mountains. The quiet. The danger that one slip could mean my
life. It is a lot like riding. There's no time for daydreaming. Total
attention is required. Death is right by my side, a constant guide.
I've been going to the mountains for over a dozen years. I have never had a
companion and oddly enough I've never wanted one until I read your words.
That's why I go in the middle of January, after hunting season is closed. It
is rare to see another human being in those mountains though I have from
time to time.
>Our time of gifts is fleeting.
I sit on a bluff overlooking the forest and watch wolves chasing the deer
down paths only they know. I see the signs of the Native Americans who hunt
this land and I use their campsites with care lest I disturb anything and
someone know I was there. I suspect it is similar to talking with God.
Thank you again. Your kindness means much to me.
Dan
