Because Platt has selective attention disorder. He thinks honest politicians
are sleezy. And he figures the fate every living thing is worth the gamble
that everything will be ok if we just keep on keepin' on.

     If this is what Platt is talking about, then why
does Platt say the Middle Ages were warmer than now,
when on that wikipedia site, the chart clearly shows
it has been warmer in recent decades than any other
time, including the Middle Ages.  Platt must be
referring to something else.
