The scientific community's record on predictions other than tides and eclipses
is hardly confidence inspiring. I don't recall any scientist predicting that
early 2007 would be among the coldest in North America in many years. Rather
most were whining and moaning about how hot it was going to be. So you expect
me to get all bent about what a few scientists predict will happen a 100 years
from now? I don't think so.
