[MD] Painting

Marsh, Platt,
I was a freelance Illustrator for 15 years before getting into
engineering. painting for me, like platt, is an appreciation of beauty.
I studied under a wildlife illustrator during art school and dropped
hunting for the most part in lieu of sketching and documenting 
What I see.I enjoy filtering reality through myself onto the page, only
when painting was as natural as getting out of bed did 
I cease to care if what I was painting was accurate to my subject and
more my interpetation of it.

Hi Marsha,

I began drawing cartoons in high school and progressed to painting
landscape watercolors from there. Homer has been a major influence.
There's a hymn that best expresses my reason for painting:

For the beauty of the earth,
For the glory of the skies,
For the love which from our birth,
Over and around us lies.
Lord of all, to thee we raise.
This our hymn of grateful praise.

For me, painting is a form of grateful praise for the beauty I have
experienced. And yes, I too am just a student.
