this could be at any job or is this more
prevalent in the surveying business in your opinion?

That's the biggest problem were I work. Not so
much the residents, but they can be frustrating. The
staff and who I point the finger, as well as the
old-timers that have worked there for over twenty
years (longer than any other employee that I'm aware
of except maybe the secretary), is the current regime
that make the decisions as to how the place with run.
About 19 staff have quit in the last 3 weeks, lots of
overtime is being handed out to cover shifts. Three
of the four female units are controlled by the
residents. It's terrible. Luckily I work in the one
female unit that is doing ok. I heard that one of the
old-timers said this is the worst he's ever seen it.
Recently with the snow, lots got stuck working 16 hour
shifts and some worked around 30-32 hours in the last
48 hours. No compassion from up on the hill
(administration, the regime). I've been with some of
them. They swear and yell at fellow employees to keep
them straight or degrade them. Not a very positive
atmosphere, but votes are coming up, I've heard, by
the board and many hope the regime is removed.
Anyways... when I started senior staff were averaging
2-4 years of working at the place. Now it's around 8
months. I was gone for about five days and went back
yesterday and heard about all kinds of disorganization
and quittings. It was weird to have so much change in
one week.

I'm not big into trig and geometry. I don't know
if I could continually think in those ways. Math
holds value, but I slant more towards the arts.
Plumbing sounds creative, but I'm sure math is
involved. I wonder how much math. I'm going to
search the internet to see what I can find. I've
always been a hands-on person. I learn best by
experience, not by what somebody tries to tell me. I
listen well, but remember and find the intricacies of
any learning to be best understood when I apply them
hands-on.
thanks.
evening,
SA
