You make additional points, DMB please note ...
(1) "But we always accept some authority and what we are being told."
I believe this is Rhetoric 3 per my Wayne Booth blog post some weeks
ago. (David Granger responded incidentally.)

DMB, there are also a couple of unresponded posts from you to me
earlier in this thread. Do you want me to go back, or are we covered
by other more recent posts ?
